Henderson, Nevada - The city of Henderson turns back the hands of time this holiday season with WinterFest – An Old-Fashioned Christmas Delight.

Scheduled for Thursday, December 13-Saturday, December 15, the weekend celebration features a winter wonderland of holiday family traditions, from horse-drawn carriage rides to carolers and an evening light parade, at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District. Admission is complimentary.

The Henderson Symphony Orchestra kicks of the most wonderful time of the year with a concert featuring everyone’s favorite holiday classics, Thursday, December 13 at 7 p.m. at the Henderson Convention Center, 200 S. Water Street, in the Water Street District. Several local high school choirs join the community’s premier ensemble as special musical guests.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas when WinterFest continues, Friday, December 14 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m., at the Henderson Events Plaza, with the arrival of Santa Claus and the official lighting of the Henderson Christmas tree by Mayor Andy Hafen. The spirit of the season rejoices with a number of old-fashioned festivities, including horse-drawn carriage rides, a carousel, gingerbread house display, craft bazaar and more.

Once again, sleigh bells ring with the streets bustling with additional WinterFest events, Saturday, December 15 from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Henderson Events Plaza. The celebration features strolling carolers, the Festival of Trees, storytelling, pony rides, musical recitals by local children’s groups and other holiday activities. The grand finale features the WinterFest Evening Light Parade, which begins at 5 p.m. The procession is set to illuminate the Water Street District with entries decked out in lights and reflecting the theme, An Old-Fashioned Christmas Delight.
