Carson City, Nevada - Today Governor Brian Sandoval issued the following statement on the Department of Employment, Training, and Rehabilitation’s Nevada 2013 Annual Benchmarking report announcing the addition of 60,700 private sector jobs.  This number is the accumulation of jobs created from 2011, 2012, and 2013.

“The economic storm that has plagued our country, and was especially devastating to Nevada is beginning to break.  Over the past three years we have witnessed steady growth, the unemployment rate has decreased, and once stagnate sectors of our economy are now generating jobs.  I have made economic development and job creation my highest priorities, and this report shows that our state is in fact gaining jobs year over year.  There is still work to be done, and I will continue to be focused on job creation until every Nevadan that wants a job has one."

The Nevada Annual Benchmarking report is a process that involves updated estimates and projections by incorporating more complete data from the prior year.  A copy of this report can be found here: https://www.nevadaworkforce.com/admin/uploadedPublications/3369_Annual_benchmark_2014.pdf
