Reno, Nevada - The owner of several Reno, Nevada landscaping and rock hauling businesses pleaded guilty in federal court today to one count of failure to pay over employment taxes, announced Acting Assistant Attorney General Caroline D. Ciraolo of the Justice Department’s Tax Division and U.S. Attorney Daniel G. Bogden of the District of Nevada.  The bookkeeper for the businesses pleaded guilty to one count of willful failure to pay taxes.

Reno, Nevada - A local doctor and eight other Reno-area residents, including a number of employees of an automobile dealership, have been arrested and charged with being part of a conspiracy to unlawfully distribute highly addictive prescription drugs, including oxycodone, to persons who did not have a medical necessity for them, announced U.S. Attorney Daniel G. Bogden for the District of Nevada, DEA Assistant Special Agent in Charge Daniel Neill, and Nevada FBI Special Agent in Charge Laura A. Bucheit.

Carson City, Nevada - Governor Brian Sandoval today announced the appointment of Deborah “Debbie” Fuetsch to the Nevada Gaming Commission, effective May 1, 2016 for a term that will expire April 27, 2017. Fuetsch will replace Michonne Ascuaga who resigned from the Commission.

Carson City, Nevada - Governor Brian Sandoval today announced the appointment of Francine Lipman to the Nevada Tax Commission, effective immediately for a term that will expire in October, 2019. Lipman will replace Bob Berengo who had served on the Commission since 2003.

Carson City, Nevada - Governor Brian Sandoval has proclaimed the month of April Autism Awareness Month in Nevada.  Sandoval signed this proclamation to highlight the state’s ongoing efforts to provide resources, assistance, and support for children and families affected by autism. Since the beginning of his administration, Governor Sandoval has led the effort to increase overall funding for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) treatment from $1.8 million to $73 million. Assembly Bill 6, which the Governor signed into law in 2015 represents a significant component of these new resources. This legislation expanded coverage for applied behavioral analysis for children up to the age of 21 and adjusted the cap on insurance payments for treatment from $36,000 to $72,000.
