Las Vegas, Nevada - A Las Vegas man was sentenced Tuesday for receiving and distributing over 400 images and 22 videos of child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Nicholas A. Trutanich of the District of Nevada and Special Agent in Charge Aaron C. Rouse for the FBI’s Las Vegas Division.

Adam Burley, 26, was sentenced to 144 months in federal prison and lifetime supervised release by U.S. District Judge Kent J. Dawson. He previously pleaded guilty to receipt or distribution of child pornography.

In July 2016, Burley uploaded eight photos of child pornography from his cell phone to the website Chatango. Law enforcement determined the images were uploaded from Burley’s apartment. During the execution of a search warrant at his apartment, he admitted to law enforcement that he uploaded child pornography to the website and he received child pornography on his phone. A forensic examination of his phone revealed over 400 sexually explicit images and videos.

The case was investigated by the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Burton prosecuted the case.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
