Las Vegas, Nevada - On November 23, 2020, at approximately 10:59 p.m., a vehicle versus vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of West Charleston Boulevard and South Rampart Boulevard. Evidence at the scene and video footage of the intersection indicated a white Honda Accord was traveling westbound on Charleston Boulevard and entered the intersection with Rampart Boulevard on a solid red traffic signal. A collision occurred when a 2007 Toyota Tacoma made a left turn from eastbound Charleston Boulevard to northbound Rampart Boulevard on a green traffic signal. The front of the Honda struck the right front of the Toyota, resulting in major damage to both vehicles.

The driver of the Toyota succumbed to his injuries at the collision scene and was pronounced deceased by responding medical personnel. The driver of the Honda sustained moderate injuries and was transported to UMC Trauma for further medical attention, where he remains in stable condition. The driver of the Honda did show signs of impairment and was subsequently placed under arrest for applicable offenses. The Toyota driver's death marks the 90th traffic-related death in the LVMPD's Jurisdiction for the year 2020.

This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD Collision Investigation Section.
