Las Vegas, Nevada - On November 17, 2020 at approximately 2:05 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to investigate a shooting that took place at a car wash located in the 5500 block of West Charleston Boulevard. Responding officers located an adult male laying in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to UMC Trauma were he later died. The investigation by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated the victim was vacuuming his vehicle when a white sedan pulled up next to him. The suspect then fired several rounds striking the victim and then fled the area at a high rate of speed.

Update

On November 20, 2020 at approximately 12:13 p.m., detectives responded to a residence located in the 4800 block of Sacks Drive after receiving information the suspect was inside. Detectives set up a perimeter and gave announcements over a PA system for the suspect to surrender. A resident came out and reported he heard a loud sound prior to coming out. Detectives entered the residence and found the suspect deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The identification of the suspect as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. An examination of this incident is being conducted by the LVMPD’s Critical Incident Review Team. This review will focus on policy, tactics and training as it relates to this incident.
