Las Vegas, Nevada - In early June of 2020, the LVMPD began investigating a string of burglaries at home developments where appliances were being stolen from homes prior to owners moving in. These events were taking place in the southwest part of the valley spanning over three area commands. Over the next several months, detectives identified 30 events which cost builders over 200,000 dollars.

Due to the number of events, Major Case Protocol was implemented bringing detectives from the Enterprise Area Command, Summerlin Area Command, Spring Valley Area Command and resources from numerous other supporting bureaus. Detectives began working with local builders and were able to obtain surveillance video of the vehicles used in the crimes. Using several investigative tactics, including a Crime Stoppers tips generated from a media release, detectives were able to identify 37-year-old Joseph Cash as the suspect in this series. Cash was taken into custody and will be charged with multiple counts of Burglary, and other crimes related to the series.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to recover a large number of stolen appliances. This is an ongoing investigation and further arrests are anticipated.
