Reno, Nevada - Special Agent in Charge Aaron C. Rouse, of the FBI Las Vegas Division, announced the arrest of Damien Moses, 39, of Las Vegas, Nevada.

A federal indictment issued on March 13, 2019, charged Moses with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, distribution of a controlled substance, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Moses was arrested without incident Wednesday afternoon, April 3, 2019, in Reno on a federal felony warrant by agents and officers of the FBI’s Northern Nevada Safe Streets Task Force, made up of the Reno Police Department and Nevada Highway Patrol. The case is being investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada.

Yesterday’s arrest is an excellent example of the U.S. Attorney’s Office Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative.

The public is reminded an indictment contains only charges and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is presumed to be innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Led by the FBI, the Northern Nevada Safe Streets Task Force pursues violent gangs through sustained, proactive, coordinated investigations to obtain prosecutions on violations such as racketeering, drug conspiracy, and firearms violations. The Safe Streets Task Force concept expands cooperation and communication among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, increasing productivity and avoiding duplication of investigative efforts.
