Newark, New Jersey - A Somerset County, New Jersey, man was arrested Wednesday for attempting to provide material support to Hamas, lying on his application to enlist in the U.S. Army, and making threats against pro-Israel supporters. Assistant Attorney General for National Security John C. Demers, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito for the District of New Jersey, FBI Assistant Director for Counterterrorism Michael McGarrity and Special Agent in Charge Gregory W. Washington, DC - The Department of Justice today recognized Detective Lorraine Szczepanik of the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for her investigation and subsequent arrest of three local child pornographers and the identification of a fourth suspect. Three were prosecuted, pleading guilty to possession of child pornography and receiving prison sentences. A case is pending against the fourth suspect.

Billings, Montana - A Mexican citizen convicted in an investigation in which law enforcement seized 34 pounds of meth, worth an estimated $1.5 million, from a hotel room was sentenced to 57 months in prison and five years of supervised release on Wednesday, U.S. Kurt Alme said.
