Las Vegas, Nevada - On April 23, 2021, at approximately 5:54 a.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred on North Lamb Boulevard near the Cecile Avenue intersection. Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated a gray 2015 Nissan Rogue was traveling north on North Lamb Boulevard south of the intersection with Cecile Avenue. A white 2015 Nissan Versa was traveling south on North Lamb Boulevard, north of the intersection with Cecile Avenue. The driver of the Rogue failed to maintain his vehicle's travel lane resulting in the Rogue veering to the left.

The Rogue crossed the centerline of North Lamb Boulevard entering the southbound lanes of travel. A collision occurred when the front of the Rogue collided with the front of the Versa. Arriving medical personnel pronounced the driver and passenger of the Versa deceased at the scene. The driver of the Rogue was transported to University Medical Center's Trauma Unit for medical treatment. The driver of the Rogue displayed signs of impairment and was later booked into the Clark County Detention Center for two counts of Driving Under the Influence Resulting in Death.

The driver's and passenger's death marks the 36th and 37th traffic-related fatalities in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2021.

The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
